From the recording Candy In My Pocket

Lyrics

Well I came and I went and I found
A little place by the side of the road
The dance floor was hopping
With those little men a’bopping
And drinking from the bodies of toads
I sacrificed a limb to pay the cover
Went in and found a lady with one eye and no nose
She asked me to dance
I thought I’d die for the chance
And proceeded to the slimy wood floor
We started slow to the rhythm of a band
That played with their overgrown toes
And I gotta know what it was in that drink
That made me kiss an ugly woman with no nose

Choking and a’screaming
I was waiting for the demons
To share a little coffee and tea
Pieces of sky were raining down
To keep me and my brothers at peace
Something kind of gritty and really itty bitty
Was grinding through our teeth
I flash a muddy smile
I should have know all the while
I’d be choking on a mouthful of dirt

We continued to dance
In a line in a trance
And descended down a staircase of earthy brown
I reached a solid floor and then they told me
For sure I’d be more comfortable laying down
I laid down to rest to the chanting and the hiss
Of a thousand serpentine tongues
And when I awoke
I awoke with a choke
Of slimy dirt around my tonsils
And I rose to get up but was stuck
With the weight of ten feet of earth
And I froze when I heard the muffled sound
Of the demons dancing up on the solid turf

Choking and a’screaming
I was waiting for the demons
To share a little coffee and tea
Pieces of sky were raining down
To keep somebody else at peace
Something kind of germy and really squirmy wormy
Was sliding through our teeth
I flash a muddy smile
I should have know all the while
I’d be choking on a mouthful of dirt
